Steve Bell

Steve was raised in De Smet, the fourth born of founding members, Phyllis and G. Robert Bell. He married a home town girl, is a proud father of three girls, and grandfather to Lucas and Theo.  He moved to Minnesota in 1994 where he had a busy General Surgical practice retiring in 2023. 

Steve's grandparents, Aubrey (De Smet News editor) and Laura Sherwood befriended Harvey Dunn and hosted many of his return trips for prairie painting. He has proudly served on the HDS Board since 2016. He is repeatedly amazed to see the beauty of the SD prairie through the eyes of the Plein Air artists.
