Board Member

Steve Randall is an artist who hales from Sioux Falls, SD. who has had and enduring relationship with the Harvey Dunn Society. He is credited for being the inspiration to start our annual plein air event and later joined the board. He was the central cog to helping us pivot to a successful on line/zoom event in 2020. His input on the HDS board is invaluable providing "the artist's view" and when Painting on the Prairie he is profoundly generous conducting regular workshops on topics relating to plein air and as a great teaching resource for new artists.

Steve's artistic talents are broad starting with a educational background in architecture. Like Harvey Dunn, his artistic talents were put to use as he served in the army on the Combat Artist Team VII in Viet Nam. He now decribes himself as a "painter of lanscapes, protraits, and mural, working in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. Most of his work is done on location - pleain air. His paintings are in private and public collections and have been included in shows at multiple large venues in Sioux Falls and other cities including the Pierre Cultural Heritage Canter, Rapid City Dahl Fine Art Center, the Brookings Art Center, the South Dakota Art Museum, and the Indianapolis Art Muserum.
