Workshop Presenters

This year's presenters also have knowledge and history painting in the unique landscape offered at the Harvey Dunn Painting on the Prairie. Be prepared to come eager and leave inspired after a session with any of these talented artists!
Steve Randall
"Steve" is a South Dakota artist who thoroughly enjoys plein air style. He was an inspiration for this Harvey Dunn event and has served on the Board as artist advisor for many years. He is a regular workshop presenter for this event including an on line presentation for the 2020 Zoom version of the paint out. He notes that the broad variety of South Dakota lanscapes and weather conditions are more than enough challenge and inspiration for him to sketch, draw, and paint. His art is characterized by an impressionist style with broad brush strokes, high contrast, and brighter colors. His paintings are in private and public collections and have been inclded in shows at multiple large venues in Sioux Falls and other cities including the Pierre Cultural Heritage Center, Rapid City Dahl Fine Art Center, the Brookings Art Center, the South Dakota Art Museum, and the Indianapolis Art Museum. His photographs, sketches, and paintings from his military service as a soldier artist are included in the Army Art ollection at the Center for Military History.
